Great question! We think about ethical clothing and sustainability a lot at Clothing The Gap.

Where possible we try to make our products in Australia but, due to manufacturing supply chains and costs this is not always possible.

However we are proud that some, of our products are made in Australia and meet the Ethical Clothing Australia (ECA) accreditation.  This may mean these products might be a little more expensive but, totally worth it because we are keeping our economy and businesses strong locally. These products that meet the ECA requirements will have this logo below in the product description.

Repost from @blakbusiness

The reality is that there are lots of deadly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses and creators which we as a community accounting for only 3% of the Australian population, cannot feasibly support without allies. Many Indigenous businesses and creators create their merchandise for the general population and take pride in seeing their goods being celebrated and worn throughout society by both Indigenous and non-Indigenous people.

We make our tees and merch for everybody to wear and celebrate! Our clothing works to unite people through fashion and cause. We invite you to wear anything you are comfortable with wearing. Purchasing and wearing merchandise such as jewelry, clothing and tote bags from Aboriginal businesses is only way allies can support the Indigenous Community.

However, this also begs the question: Is it ok for non-Indigenous people to wear Indigenous merch? Indigenous merchandise worn by non-Indigenous people provides representation for our Community. In this way, Indigenous-made merchandise worn by non-Indigenous people may act as a conversation start in spaces where conversations about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and affairs many not have previously occurred. For this reason, it is important that allies know who they're buying from and what the merchandise is about.

We currently do not have a physical store or stockists and sell completely through our online website.
