A bit about me...
I show up to contribute to the success of a brand that has the ability to be independent, agile and meaningful in the way that it does business for real change.
I’m a non-Indigenous Co-Founder and Director in an Aboriginal owned and led business with my business partner Laura. This means that for me, Aboriginal leadership is key. Being aware of my role, the space I take up and when I can step in to reduce the emotional labour of racism for my Aboriginal colleagues is vital.
I’m passionate about health and reconciliation. I have my own health transformation journey of losing 50kgs, so I understand the difference positive health and wellbeing makes in ones’ life and ensuring others have access to these opportunities is important to me.
A TYPICAL DAY FOR ME...
Getting in early before the team to make sure everything is sorted and ready to roll for the distribution crew for the day. Keeping things ticking in the background, from HR, to compliance, to contract management. Over seeing project management of our impact work, warehousing, distribution, and customer care.
Problem solving to make things happen and quite often Laura’s IT guru.
THINGS I AM PROUD OF...
Lots! But here's a few...
- Completing my double Degree in Health Science (Public Health) and International Development at La Trobe University.
- Running four marathons (yup a marathon is 42.2km) after never thinking I'd be able to run 1km!
- Being a qualified personal trainer and motivating other people to get and stay active every day.
- Having my truck license...and all the other incredibly handy skills growing up on a farm has given me. Pass me the tool box any day!
